Illustration Fundamentals #102 (Value & Thumbnails) - Supplies
PLEASE don't feel like you need to get a bunch of new things - the links are just suggestions. You are welcome to use anything that you already have that is comparable.
Pencil
Eraser (kneaded and/or rubber)
Sketch paper – can use the cheapest you have (sketchbook or even printer paper)
Black pen or marker (a blunt sharpie is ideal)
Tracing Paper – you can use the cheapest you can find (such as the student grade Canson tracing pads you can maybe still get at Michaels? or this one from Strathmore.
I also frequently use this higher end Canson type which is much more translucent.
Something to make grey scale marks – soft pencils, grey-scale markers (Copic, Pitt or Tombow for instance), paint, colored pencils – don’t feel you have to buy anything, just use something you have.
