 Illustration Fundamentals #103 (Color and Comps) - Supply List

PLEASE don't feel like you need to get a bunch of new things - the links are just suggestions. You are welcome to use anything that you already have that is comparable.

Pencil
Eraser
(kneaded and/or rubber)
Sketch paper – can use the cheapest you have (sketchbook or even printer paper)
Black pen or marker (a blunt sharpie is ideal)

The color medium you prefer working in (watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, etc…) - including a good selection of primary colors and some neutrals - along with the appropriate accompanying paper, brushes, etc…

Hole Punch and some heavy white cardstock

Optional:

Tracing Paper – you can use the cheapest you can find (such as the student grade Canson tracing pads you can maybe still get at Michaels? or this one from Strathmore.

I also frequently use this higher end Canson type which is much more translucent.

An assortment of colored and/or patterned papers - it can be scrapbook papers, wrapping paper, magazine photos, etc…

Scissors
Tape
(I generally use masking tape)
Gluestick

A bound sketchbook or journal for color studies.
